San Francisco

First day in San Francisco, we went to Alcatraz! This is the view of the jail from the boat that we were on to get to it.

We had an audio tour that told you all about the different cells things as you walked around. I love anything to do with jails and things so found it really interesting. It was narrated by some of the old prison wardens and even some of the inmates!

You get a great view of the city of San Francisco while on the island of Alcatraz.

One of the pieces of art around San Francisco. There were other hearts, all with different designs on.

The famous trams!

Very, very steep hills.

A view of china town!

We got the bus to the Golden Gate bridge. It's cold anyway in San Francisco, but by the water it is BITTER! We've experienced rain twice in 7 weeks, so the weather being like this was a bit of a shock. Its the sort of weather that if it was like it at home, you wouldn't leave the house, but because we were here, we had to go out and do something.

We visited the Castro neighbourhood which was cool, but think i'd have liked it a bit more if I wasn't freezing. I treated myself to a KFC afterwards though, so I wasn't too sad.

Monterey

We had to include this because we've spent hours driving past vineyards and orchards and vineyards and orchards. Driving past Blossom Hill might have been more interesting if we actually drank wine.

We found this poor chap :( I wanted to give him a proper burial.

The view from Lovers point Park, how pretty!!

Met this little guy, wasn't fazed at all when we got closer to him.

View of the beach.

Laura looking very tanned and healthy.

Las Vegas

In Vegas we met up with the lovely Kate, and her friends Megan and Rachel! Was good to see a familiar face! And she came baring gifts...always a delight! :)

I won 49 whole dollars! Never felt adrenaline like it! I wanted to keep my winnings and go home happy, but Laura made me gamble again and I lost every penny. Gambling's a mug game.

The Bellagio, felt like one of the Oceans 11!

Laura losing our dinner money at the roulette table.

Ceasars Palace

We were there for fight night! We thought we'd maybe buy some tickets,  but saw a sign saying they were $1500, so we decided against.

Laura trying Ben & Jerrys that had crisps in it!

The strip at night

We went to see the Hoover Dam on the last day in Vegas. I would be able to tell you more about it, but I fell asleep on the coach when the information video was playing, so sorry about that.

After the Hoover Dam, we went to the Grand Canyon which was amazing to actually see in real life.

For some reason, we can't stop buying novelty cups!

After this was taken, we went back to the car. I looked back and couldn't find Laura and finally spotted her sitting in the drivers seat of another silver car, looking at me like I was stood at the wrong car. It was only until she noticed the handbag in the footwell was neither of ours, that she realised she was sat in a strangers car.

Flagstaff

These aren't all from Flagstaff, most of these pictures were taken from Alburqueue to Flagstaff, and Flagstaff to Las Vegas. Most of the journey was on route 66, or just off, so most of the interesting things to see where en route!

One the way to vegas, we stopped off at a great little place on Route 66, that seemed to be exactly like it used to be back in the day. Was full of great little shops full of memorabilia, which we look around even though nearly every gift shop in America is full of exactly the same things.

The Snow Cap

We had lunch at a family run diner called the Snow Cap, where we had a burger that Laura has mentioned nearly every day since.

Colorado River

The views on the way were amazing, and we got to see the Colorado River too!
